HI,

I have recently changed my WPS from 11 down to to the recommended 6. I have also increased my DPI because obviously lowering the WPS slows my mouse pointer speed down...

 

I filled out the conversion table and it giving me a new sensitivity however when changed in a particular game that i was playing frequently before I changed my WPS it didn't feel at all like it used. It wasn't even a minor issue, it was considerably faster?

 

Can anyone help?

You do not need to change DPI when changing WPS, in fact one of the main features of the calculator is to calculate the new sensitivity settings needed when changing WPS without changing DPI

It's saying this because the calculated sensitivity number needed for the "new game" is below the minimum supported by the game. It's impossible for the game to match the sensitivity you want. The solution is to increase the DPI above the minimum recommended. This also goes for maximum sensitivity.

I have been faced with the same problem that I had at the begginning with the new sensitivity being considerably higher, below I have listed details that I am trying to convert:

 

Old (before changed WPS)

 

Game: Cod Black ops 2

WPS: 11

DPI: 400

In-game sensitivity: 12.00

FOV: 65

Aim: hip fire

Everything else: default

 

New:

 

Game: Cod Balck ops 2

WPS: 6

DPI: 600

In game sensitivity: yet to be know

FOV: 65

Aim: Hip fire

Everything else: default

 

Could you please tell me what I need to change. Sorry if this is really obvious; I'm new to PC gaming

It seems like there's a bug with the minimum recommended DPI when you have different WPS values. Other than that, what you are entering should work, the result should look like this:

 

So with WPS 6 and 600 DPI, a sensitivity of 28 will give you the exact same 360 distance

 

(PS: The Sensitivity and Coefficient fields that says N/A are only for certain games that require several input parameters to calculate sensitivity)

Trying to convert a sensitivity from BF4 to BF3 will not let you change WPS... ?

It is correct, the math for this game is actually straight forward since the sensitivity is linear:

 

Original: 400 DPI, WPS 11, SENS 12

 

First, if you go from WPS 11 to WPS 6, you need a sensitivity 3.5 times higher to match the previous sensitivity, that is 12*3.5=42

 

The problem here is that 42 is higher than the game accepts, as 30 is maximum. What you then do is increase DPI to 600 (which is 150% of 400), so now we do 42/1.5=28

 

Make sure acceleration etc is off btw, or else the calculations are not accurate

Trying to convert a sensitivity from BF4 to BF3 will not let you change WPS... ?

BF3 and BF4 have raw mouse input support, which bypasses WPS completely. You should always use this when possible.
