The sniper sensitivity seems to affect the the aim down sights sensitivity of every gun in the game, atleast it did make the ironsight ads on my MP5 faster when I tried it, which means it should work

    Added ADS now.

The game is open again for stress testing in preparation for the official open beta coming later this month, if anyone is interested in trying the game.

Awesome, I'd like to see an option for the Holographic sight and Ironsights as well. I think the sight fovs might be different between assault rifles and smgs, haven't checked it though. Also, I don't know if it's just me but the .cfg sensitivity doesn't seem to work anymore?

I got one of the community managers on the discord  to ask the devs about a separate slider for close range optics and apparently it isn't something they're planning to add... That was a while ago though so things may have changed, I guess I'll have to keep asking ^^

That would be amazing thanks!

Hey that would be extremely helpful dude, I'm all about matching red dot ADS fov along with 360 distance to match other games perfectly. Hipfire fov matters not so much imo.

So config file is in folder Ironsight/ini/ironsight_local.ini. Also i would like to know how "sniper" sensitivity is calculated, for what zoom is it meant for etc. Thanks.

The sniper sensitivity seems to affect the the aim down sights sensitivity of every gun in the game, atleast it did make the ironsight ads on my MP5 faster when I tried it, which means it should work for every gun/sight in the game as long as we have the fov of those sights. Not sure which sight DPI Wizard used for the calculations but I suspect it's the standard scope for the Blaser/DSR based on the fov used.

The config file location (Ironsight/ini/ironsight_local.ini.) is definitely correct but I can't seem to get the game to read the sensitivity values I put in there. It always remembers the last value I set it to in game and overwrites the config with that. Same thing if I set the .ini to read only except it only uses the previous sensitivity I set in game without ofc overwriting the one in the config.

@DPI Wizard Any update on the ironsight, red dot or holographic calculations? I like this game a lot for "warm up" purposes and quick matches so correct ads would be welcome for the lower magnification sights.

@DPI Wizard I would also love to see if RDS sensitivity calculations are possible if you get the chance.

@DPI Wizard  What about the crosshairs? red dot, holo and stuff.

Doing these next.

Nice, from some quick testing it seemed the Quick Shot Sight (RDS) and the Holographic are the only sights that zoom in the ads fov compared to the ironsights, the Holographic seems to zoom in a little more than the RDS as well. The Clear Sight, Glow On Sight, Monitoring Sight, Precision Sight and Detecting Sight all use the same fov as the ironsights while ads, doesn't seem to differ between smg or ar either or atleast the PDR-C and AK47 were the same.

Now if the game only had a more intuitive way to fine tune sensivitity other than using [ & ]

I think i found a Solution for this:

Change the values in the ironsight_local.ini when the game is running.

That works for me.

Hmm, I just tried it like this and still couldn't get it to work.

  1. Set "correct" Desktop to game WPS 3 sensitivity in game via [ and ] and check it's correct with Notepad++
  2. Check sensitivity in game and close game and verify it's stayed the same in the .ini.
  3. Relaunch game and start a custom match
  4. Input Desktop to game WPS 6 sensitivity in Notepad++ with game running and save the .ini
  5. Check sensitivity in game and .ini
  6. Relaunch game and verify again

The WPS 6 value gets saved to the .ini but at #5 it doesn't actually change the sensitivity in game, the .ini value gets overwritten with the last value I set in game using [ and ] the next I launch the game as well.

I think I'll just use a keybind that quickly presses [ or ] once for the in game adjustment, ads can apparently be adjusted more finely in game as well by just moving the slider one "tick" without it changing the displayed number. It's not perfect but you can get enough decimals correct that you won't be able to notice the difference.

Shroud was streaming Ironsight yesterday, he was complaining about this game having mouse acceleration and no option to disable it. Do you guys know more about this? I didn't actually play the game yet cause I was waiting for the scopes calculations.

Something about the aiming feels a little odd but I always thought it was just the close range ads sensitivity that compared to hipfire scales a little faster than you'd expect it to. Trying the classic not-so-scientific acceleration test the crosshair seems to end up at the same spot so that's a good start, DPI Wizard probably has some more detailed information regarding this ^^

I cannot get the game to use my config file settings. I even tried setting the config file to read only but it had no affect.

I can't get the sensitivities to stick using the .ini file.

Anyone know how to get this to work?

I don't think you can set values directly in the .ini so you have to use the in game adjustments, if you watch the sniper sensitivity slider closely you can see that it moves in small steps before the actual in game value changes. These small steps actually change the sniper sensitivity in the .ini so if you have notepad++ open and check after each step you can get it pretty close, the actual value does seem to change a little depending on the hipfire sensitivity so set that first. It's best to use the existing keybinds ([ & ] I believe) for that, however the keys are way too sensitive to do any sort of fine tuning so I found I had to setup a script in LGS that only presses the key for a couple milliseconds. Doesn't make a lot of sense but that's the only way I can get it to work.

Worth taking a second look into this game to update the sens calc/instructions, seeing as it's coming to steam soon as far as I can see. Something about the ini file is borked (as you can see from the replies above) and it's worth looking into, especially since it's F2P.
