  • You should always enter the config FOV, but let me double check the PS2 calculations as I haven't played it in a while.

  • @DPI Wizard Could you take a look at this game again to see if the calculations are still correct? It's been while and the game got revived by a new dev team.

Mainly that the conversion between different aspect ratios keeps the aim consistent. Let's say you convert from 16:9 to 21:9. The vertical FOV (usually) stays the same, so by using this FOV for the ca

Hey could you add more info about the other sensitivities on Planetside 2 (Aimed and Scoped)? Even putting the same value to aimed or scoped the sensitivity is not the same. At least for me it doesn't feel the same. Could you check it?

For some reason I can't find C:UsersPublicSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesPlanetSide 2 PSG when trying to change the planetside 2 sensitivity. Please help me!

Perhaps you have installed the game in another folder or another hard drive disk?

I only have one hard drive. But when I look up planetside 2 it doesn't show up, even though it says it is installed on steam. Maybe I need to play the game or something and it will appear

Played the game, still can't find it. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I got the the game through steam instead of through the website?

The file appeared when I reinstalled the game, but there are no mouse sensitivity settings. The UserOptions.ini file seems to only have basic information, there are no key bindings, or sensitivity settings.

Can one of you with the game open the file and see if you have the same problem?

It's in UserOptions.ini in your Planetside 2 install folder, in something like C:Program Files (or wherever you installed Steam) SteamSteamAppscommonPlanetside 2 if you installed through Steam, or maybe C:Sony Online EntertainmentPlanetside 2 or C:Program Files (x86)SOEPS2 depending on where you installed the game.

Thanks for the help!

You have to change your sensitivity to make it appear in your UserOptions.ini!

Planetside 2 creates things like that, when you don't use the standart anymore.

Could you recheck the aim-down-sight sensitivity for Planetside 2? Seems like an undocumented change in the latest patch totally screwed things up and made it higher.

Awesome. I think the change is unintentional and temporary, though. If anything I'm just curious if my suspicions are correct. Seems like every other patch they screw it up and reset it with another patch a week later.

Just checked now, and the sensitivity is the same as far as I can tell. They may have changed or fixed some minor acceleration issues, but the base sensitivity and unaccelerated distance/360 should remain the same. I will do some further testing though.

Hey Wizard, I have a question/request for this game.

I found my ideal DPI, and all of my in game sensitivity settings are in the 0.15 - 0.4 range, however the calculator doesn't seem to be able to handle 1800 DPI for Vehicles, and tells me to take my dpi ALL the way down to 250!?

Could you take a look at that, maybe throw me an explanation for why it doesn't seem to work at 1800 DPI for Vehicle, but it works for the rest of them?

(I'm converting from CS:GO @ 1800 DPI  &  1 Sensitivity.)

Edit: I attempted to do the same @ 800 DPI  &  2.25 Sensitivity in CS:GO and the conversion still doesn't seem to work. Same result as before, it's recommending 250 DPI o.o?

Scoped sensitivity is incorrect, I get a 720 instead of a 360.

Also vehicle sensitivity seems incorrect, use a secondary weapon (buy a harasser and press F2) rather than a primary turret.

A few updates and observations:

  1. A new Vehicle Gunner Mouse Sensitivity setting was added to the game as of a few patches ago. Calculation is the same as regular (Hipfire) Mouse Sensitivity. It affects only secondary guns on ground vehicles. Secondary guns on aircraft are unaffected by this setting, however they have the same behavior being also identical to hipfire.
  2. Aimed and Scoped calculations are off. Aimed calculation is based on the lowest magnification optics which are 1x reflex/nightvision/ironsights, but that is a misnomer as they are actually 1.35x zoom. Therefore any distance/360 value that is plugged into the Aimed calculator needs to be multiplied by 1.35 first in order to be accurate, i.e. if 30 cm/360 is desired then enter 40.5. Otherwise as it stands, the calculated Aim sens is too high and it mucks up all 1.35x/2x/4x optics. I have not determined which magnification scope the Scoped calculation is based on, but it is also too high. It should be set to the same number as Aimed.
  3. Vehicle calculation may as well not exist because turrets on MBT's and Lightnings are affected by strong negative mouse acceleration. There is no consistency so all it does is create confusion.
