September 18, 20205 yr hey wizard, I found a file that can accurately modify the FOV for this game, but im not sure about this, can you test it? Preferences.json its in the game’s local files, I think it should be like a config file, u can find these options and change it to what you like }, "Viewmodel": { "Field_Of_View_Aim": 73.739795, "Field_Of_View_Hip": 73.739795, "Offset_Horizontal": 0.0, "Offset_Vertical": 0.0, "Offset_Depth": 0.0 },
September 19, 20205 yr Author Wizard This is the viewmodel FOV and not the display FOV. Meaning it is what FOV weapons etc are rendered at. Join the community on Discord!

But I noticed that if you change this value, the size of the scene in the field of vision will also change, is that didn't mean it can change display fov?

January 8, 20223 yr This is outdated and needs to be updated, the new system doesn't use a sensitivity like this anymore, it refers to it in-game as "Degrees per Pixel"

Thanks for the quick response, I play this constantly and I kinda screwed it up when trying to change it lol Glad to have someone so skilled in the community, I couldn't understand it for the life of me.
March 18, 20223 yr Is there any way to access the config file and change the sensitivity from there? my specific sens is 0.27502 but it only goes down to 0.0001, since this is my most valued game if it's possible I'd like to be able to make my cm/360° accurate to 4.4331cm so I don't mess up by muscle memory. I also use mouse accel, so it's hard to just simply change my DPI value to fit the sens decimal value. If it's possible, it'd be much appreciated if you or someone can show me how, or maybe post a link to a forum/post that tells how to edit the file?

There is no config file for this game, but setting it in-game should work. Do you mean it resets to 0.0001 when you try to enter 0.27502? Are you trying with a period or comma? March 20, 20223 yr I'm trying it with a period, I enter 0.27502 and it resets to 0.275 after I restart the game. Also, I found a file called "Options" in this directory: F:\Steam\userdata\383*****\304930\remote\Options Could this file be changed in any way to edit the sensitivity? It's a DAT file with symbols unreadable by NPP.

This is just a display issue, as long as you entered 0.27502 in the first place, this is the value actually used. Join the community on Discord!
May 20, 20223 yr Unturned Update 3.22.9.0 notes show a new way of doing zoom sensitivity for the different scopes and stuff. Also, do you know what logic the "legacy" option is based on?
May 20, 20223 yr I told Nelson (the dev) that he should add something similar with the uniform soldier aiming system so people won't have to deal with a huge drop of sensitivity when aiming, but I guess he misunderstand and end up adding this new "no scaling" option which is, well, simply no scaling. Also @DPI Wizard Can you please tell me how the uniform soldier aiming system works, maybe a formula or something, so I can let Nelson add it in the next update? If you mean to separate the sens for different zoom levels it might not be possible, because a majority of Unturned's content is based on the workshop and people tend to create a lot of scope attachments with many zoom levels that aren't present in the vanilla game.

If it's added like a coefficient (like in Battlefield), all scopes will scale accordingly based on their zoom. Join the community on Discord!

I just found one of your older post saying the uniform soldier aiming formula is something like this: basic sens/(atan((vres/hres)*USA Value*(tan(hfov/2)))/atan((vres/hres)*USA Value*(tan(Aim hfov/2)))) So for example, if someone is playing on 16:9 res, 75 ingame fov (107.51 horizontal), and when he's aiming with a 3x zoom scope (75 ÷ 3 = 25 vertical, which is about 43.02 horizontal?), then his sens should be multiplied by: 1/(atan((1080/1920)*1.78*(tan(107.51degrees/2)))/atan((1080/1920)*1.78*(tan(43.02degrees/2)))) ≈ 0.4 Is that correct? If it is I'll just send him the formula and see if he can add it into the game.
May 21, 20223 yr Author Wizard 16 minutes ago, ZeroPhoenix said: Is that correct? If it is I'll just send him the formula and see if he can add it into the game. Correct, but you can skip the inclusion of resolution/aspect ratio when the FOV is in vertical degrees, so you can simply do: 1/(atan(1.78*(tan(75degrees/2)))/atan(1.78*(tan(25degrees/2))))) instead. This breaks with coefficient 0 however, then you have to use: 1/(tan(75degrees/2)/tan(25degrees/2)) Join the community on Discord!
