Settings: simple in some games, awkward in others

Featured Replies

Just a general question here: In games like CSGO and Apex I can have a sens of 1.2 and I'm good to go. But in other games (PUBG for example) it just seems so awkward.

Having a sens with 7 decimal places and then trying to work out iron sight sens and sens for different scopes. I just bought Battlefield V and that's kinda what spurred me to make this post because I'm still a noob at this kinda thing and am having trouble with the settings. Uniform soldier aiming seems good but what coefficient to use?

This was more of a ramble than a question, I'm sorry :(

The Coefficient is vertical monitor distance. It enables you to synchronise mouse distance to a specific part of the screen as FOV changes with scope zoom. 0% is effectively synchronising the speed of the game world turning at the centre pixel, 100% is matching mouse distance to the top of your screen, 50% would be halfway between your crosshair and the top of your screen etc etc.

The game actually uses 100% coefficient even when you turn Uniform aiming off now anyway. If you find the options confusing you can just leave it at the defaults and stay out of the advanced menu. The way Battlefield comes setup by default for aiming sensitivity is pretty fool-proof.

If you want to know more and fine tune your setup I suggest you first read Skidushe's excellent post to understand the concepts better.

Thanks very much for the reply!

I feel like 0% coefficient is maybe the way to go (if I'm underst anding this correctly). It feels fine and I'm not worried about getting used to it in BF5, only worried about it in terms of consistency with other games.

Until 2 months ago I played on very high sens in shooting games (5cm/360 or something). I was terrible and my hipfire sens wasn't even slightly consistent between games. I gradually lowered it to 43cm/360, as well as making it the same or close to that in every game. I've seen massive improvements in games like Apex, Overwatch and CSGO. I'm so happy that I started learning more about aiming; but now that I've started worrying about ADS conversions etc, I might be overthinking things a little... I just want to be consistent between games :)
