Hello! I've noticed that all sensitivity converters don't transfer correctly. I checked in a simple way, measured the distance of the mouse on the carpet for 360 ° With a small error: CS2 sensitivity - 0.762 (54.5455cm/1000dpi) in PUBG - 28.951021 LastConvertedSensitivity - 0.007577 (config file) Please explain why?

The PUBG conversion is 100% correct, there is no doubt about this.

It is however affected by FOV, perspective and aspect ratio, so maybe you have a mismatch there between the conversion and actual settings?

Can you share your conversion using the purple share button so I can see what you are trying to do?

I do it as with other games, but the problem is with PUBG. The converter suggests that I set Sensitivity=26.272554 (conf1) and LastConvertedSensitivity=0.006706 (conf2) I measured the distance on the mat for a full rotation (360°) in aiming from the hip and got a discrepancy of ~7cm. Tell me if I am doing something wrong.

(SensitiveName="Normal",Sensitivity=26.272554,LastConvertedSensitivity=0.020000) (SensitiveName="Normal",Sensitivity=50.000000,LastConvertedSensitivity=0.006706)

You need to provide both FOV, aspect ratio, perspective and DPI to these numbers. Which is why I ask you to share the conversion using the purple share button. This way I can check if the exact numbers are correct.

I know 100% that the PUBG conversions are correct because we know exactly how the game engine works. Any discrepancy is down to hardware issues like the wrong DPI being applied due to automatic profiles, or the sensitivity in the config file not being applied properly etc.

Sorry, I didn't see this button right away.  FOV - 90 standard. Aspect ratio does not affect (checked)

Change 'Location' to in game and youll get the round number of 26. The config file will be exact but you have to change the values in the .txt config file and is trickier.

Pubg sensitivity adjustment is hilariously bad and does not let you change to decimal points in game which is dogshit but is what it is.

I'd say using the whole value of 26 would suffice for pubg its close enough

With a value of 26, the error will be ~8cm. Moving the slider in the game, I found a value that is approximately similar to the value in CS2 and it is equal to 28.951021/0.007577. I hope the admins will understand the reasons for this discrepancy

Are you testing this in first person or third person?

That's it: I realized my mistake! Thank you very much, of course I checked in the third person. Thank you so much  😃

@DPI WizardMay I ask, in PUBG, how can I obtain a sensitivity that feels similar or even the same both in the normal sensitivity and the scope  (2-15x), assuming that I take the normal  sensitivity as the conversion standard? How should I operate the conversion?

That depends on what you mean by same. See the second question here :)

@DPI WizardAnother question. Does MDH 0% refer to the one in the front or the one at the back?

and, what does MDH 100% represent the same?

Instead of scaling FOV by locking the 16:9 portion and adding on (or subtracting) the extra width (i.e. Hdeg 16:9), a seemingly random multiplier is applied when the aspect ratio changes. This change also directly affects sensitivity since the game scales everything to the actual horizontal FOV.

The FOV is scaled like this:

image.png

Do you think this weird FOV Type could contribute to a different feel in x->y Axis across different Scopes?
For some reason the 4x feels very 1:1 in x and y movement with a Vertical Multiplier in the range of 1.07->1.1 @ 1920x1080 when I run a sensitivity like 32.67 @ 800 dpi.
But this also seems to be related to the sensitivity, choosing a lower or higher sensitivity doesn't feel similar in X&Y Axis anymore with the same vert multiplier.
It almost feels like every sensitivity / scope needs a different vert multiplier.

Could there be some explanation for this or a way to test if this is the case?
Or maybe I'm just going slowly insane with how the mouse in this game feels:)

This weird FOV scaling does not affect the relation between the X and Y axis, they are 1:1 with the vertical multiplier set to 1 regardless of aspect ratio :)

The mouse has always felt 'off' in pubg, even after playing 7k hours and competitively. It's just strange.

When you go back to cs or valorant etc. they always feel so easy to aim in comparitively, as things feel like they are in sync. Pubg feels like holding fire hoses sometimes, its just inconsistent and odd with ADS across diff scopes and ranges

Important update!

I've added a "Config File 2" calculations to PUBG, and you can use this to calculate the MouseSensitivity value in the config file accurately. This way you can make a config file with accurate sensitivity that will be kept when you do any changes to the config in-game.

You can use it in one of two ways:

  1. Just calculate the MouseSensitivity value and changed the config file accordingly, leaving out the LastConvertedMouseSensitivity value. For instance like this:

    (MouseSensitiveName="Normal",MouseSensitivity=34.902415)

Since the LastConvertedMouseSensitivity is not present, the mouse sensitivity is effectively 0 now, and you will not move when moving the mouse. So enter the game and do a config change so the Apply button is clickable. You can do this by enabling Invert Mouse, click Apply, disable it and click Apply again (or opposite if you already have it enabled). The LastConvertedMouseSensitivity will then be calculated based on the MouseSensitivity value:

    (MouseSensitiveName="Normal",MouseSensitivity=34.902416,LastConvertedMouseSensitivity=0.009969)

  2. Calculate both values using Config File 1 and Config File 2 calculations. Add both values you get to the config file like this:

    (MouseSensitiveName="Normal",MouseSensitivity=34.902416,LastConvertedMouseSensitivity=0.009979)

You do not need to anything else in-game, the sensitivity will be correct the next time you start the game. And should you change something in the config in-game, the LastConvertedMouseSensitivity will be overwritten by an almost identical value.

So why aren't the LastConvertedMouseSensitivity values identical?
The error is actually in the game, the calculations done here are the correct values. The game converts whole numbers correctly, but is off by a little bit (0.1-0.5%) on decimal numbers.

Also note that the game have a tendency to change the MouseSensitivity value a tiny bit when you start the game, something like 36.257845 will be changed into 36.257847. This is negligible though.

is this still the up-to-date way of having to convert a sensitivity properly to pubg? just got the game, and trying to set it up properly (playing TPP and converting from marvel rivals sensitivity [using look/hipfire - 360° | all other sens - MDH 100% convertion]).

This is still the best method, yes.
