Is that intended? Does the game need me to do that? I would expect that this would result in different sensitivities for vertical and horizontal (which I do not think anyone would want, at least not by default).

You need to change the Multiplier 1 value to what you want to use, in most cases you can just use the same value as Mouse Horizontal Sensitivity

So setting vertical to the same value as horizontal ingame would be the best approach Thanks

This is correct as far as I can tell. Make sure you configure all the calculated numbers according to the output and is should work as intended.
