Posted March 4Mar 4 Hi everyone! I’m completely new to PUBG and feeling a bit lost with how sensitivity works. I don’t really understand the terminology yet, so I’d love some help breaking it down! There seem to be so many factors involved, like FOV, scoping, and more. I’ve heard that "normal sensitivity" affects scoping, and that scoping sensitivity is some kind of multiplier of normal sensitivity—but that’s confusing to me, and I’m not sure what it means. I’ve been browsing forums and stumbled across terms like VSH/VSV and MDH, but I have no clue what they stand for or how they fit in. Then there’s FOV—apparently there are multiple types? I read that the VSS has its own unique FOV, and scopes have fixed values like 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 6x, 8x, and 15x. How does all of this work together? Is there a simple way to understand it? I’d also love to know if there’s a calculation or formula behind it. Any help would be greatly appreciated—thanks so much!

For this game this is not true. Each sensitivity value for hipfire, ADS and scopes are completely independent and does not affect each other. This varies by game though, but if you select a specific aim in the calculator you can see what values affect it. Sometimes more values than the ones affecting the aim is unlocked, but by changing them you can see which one it is. For PUBG though, there's only one value for each zoom level. These are explained in the instructions, but what's more important is what you prefer. If you have an existing setup you would like to convert to other games, that would be the best approach as you can use the reverse function to find the best conversion method to match it. Correct, multiple different types, so you can't directly compare FOVs between games without knowing how they apply it. The calculator will always show you the actual HFOV and VFOV in the output though, these are the real values you can use to compare FOV between games and aims. All scopes in PUBG are fixed to a specific value, regardless of your configured FOV. For PUBG it's quite easy, the base FOV is 80 for 16:9 aspect ratio, and a 2x scope is 40 with twice the 360 distance at the same sensitivity value etc. This is not universal however, games do all sorts of different scalings of both FOV and sensitivity, so you have to resort to the calculator to find the correct values.
March 10Mar 10 Author Thanks for the detailed explanation, DPI Wizard! That really helps clarify things for me as a PUBG newbie. I appreciate the breakdown—knowing that each sensitivity value (hipfire, ADS, scopes) is independent in PUBG makes it less overwhelming. The FOV insights are super useful too, especially understanding that scopes have fixed values and how the calculator shows actual HFOV/VFOV for comparison. Following up on that, I have a specific goal I’d love some guidance on: I want to set up my sensitivity so the vertical distance I move my mouse feels the same across ADS (1x), 2x, and 3x scopes—basically, for consistent vertical recoil control. For example, if I pull my mouse down a certain distance to counter recoil with ADS, I’d like that same distance to work for 2x and 3x. Does that make sense? Could you explain what calculations or steps I need to do to achieve this? Thanks again!
