New 26.5" monitor, sensitivity question...

Recommended Posts

I got a new monitor, it's listed as 27" but only 26.5" viewable (see screenshot from asus website).

My question is...do I have to use the 27" or 26.5" in the sensivity calculator? I tried to convert my current CoD Warzone settings from 27" to 26.5" inch...which results in a slightly faster sensitivity. My 27" sensitivity was 4.29 and the calculator gives my 4.37 for my new 26.5" monitor (if that's correct to use) !

What's confusing me tho, if I convert my original Warzone settings (27" and 4.29 sensitivity) to Rainbow Six Siege for my new monitor, I don't get the same sensitivity results, as if I convert my new Warzone monitor settings to it. Hope you know what I mean.

Warzone [original settings] (27", 4.29 sens) --> R6 Siege (just changed monitor from 27" to 26.5") = 0.001674

Warzone [converted settings] (26.5", 4.37 sens) --> R6 Siege (26.5" monitor, too) = 0.001598

WHICH ONE IS CORRECT? Should I use 27" or 26.5" and why are both different? THANKS

When you enter the same (or no) monitor size, the monitor size is completely ignored in the calculation. But as soon as there is a difference in the monitor size, it will be accounted for based on your conversion setup. So for 360 distance, nothing changes as it will stay the same regardless of monitor size. But for any other method, the FOV is used in the calculation to account for the monitor size difference, and since you don't have the exact same FOV in R6 and Warzone you get this difference.

Ah, okay - thank you! So it would be the best to convert my original settings with 27" monitor to 26.5" for any game, so that the new monitor size gets accounted for each fov?

And should I use 26.5 or 27 as value for my new monitor...because I'm not sure what viewable means. The panel is 27" but it only shows 26.5" to be able to move pixels for burn in protection and stuff...so I think it's technically treated as a 26.5", right?
