I just discovered that each particular server needs to support this functionality. So, while it is possible to set sens per scope, the server itself must also be running the mod which allows it :(

Correct, some do say they support it in their description, for others you just have to check I guess.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to convert my hipfire value to 1x scopes. 800 DPI, 40cm to 360 and sensitivity of 0.049210 (hipfire). I understand that 1x scopes have a 0.5 multiplier but I'm unable to find the right value. What would the 1x ADS value be with an hipfire sensitivity of 0.049210? Thanks in advance :)

i digged bf3 out and now i wonder the fov settings:

Ingame it says it uses the vertical FoV and here it says it uses 4:3 horizontal

I googled it up and it seems people have mixed opinions some say vertical some say horizontal.

Than i found this tweet from  Alan Kertz  DICE's core gameplay designer for Bf3

So is it vertical?

I just checked again to be absolutely sure (I think I have done this previously as well), and it's 100% for sure Hdeg 4:3, not vertical.

I know it even says "vertical" in the info section when you set the FOV in-game, but it is wrong.

My best theory is that to not "confuse" players with unknown jargon, they just say the FOV is vertical (since the vertical FOV stays the same regardless of aspect ratio) and hope no one notices/cares.

yea i also wondered how 90 is fisheyed in bf3. Thanks again for clear up Wizard.

I hope  your theory is true cause i think they just dont know what they do.

In the first bfs they used horizontal (locked) than in bfbc2 (first bf you can change your fov so far as i know) they used vertical than in bf3 horizontal and in bf4 horizontal later they changed it to vertical. Now the new bfs all use vertical.

All the FOV calculations in Frostbite internally were vertical radians.

So Kertz wasn't "incorrect". He probably forgot that in BF3/BF4 it was converted to 4:3 Horizontal degrees for the user interface. The UI didn't show Vertical FOV correctly until BF4 had it's post-DICE LA patches.
