Both methods are tested and verified, but the effect of lowering the polling rate might vary depending on your system.

Upon further testing I realized I was mistaken about the fixes. They do, in fact, get rid of the negative acceleration. (*Note: When I quickly move the camera in-game there seems to be several frames of "stopping lag" which I always contributed to mouse smoothing. I'm running at high framerates so It's not due to performance. It may be some sort of "effect" that is implemented in a way that is beyond the scope of *.ini commands as I don't have this problem in other games.) Edited August 12, 20223 yr by Helwing
