I play 4:3 stretch and I have to re-learn my aim every time I switch back from Apex Legends (on 4:3 stretch) and CS:GO.. Is there a potential mouse sensitivity bug that has to do with stretched resolutions?

Hey, thanks for the reply!

Just to clarify a couple of things...

MS-AL.thumb.PNG.aec12093162cc8f36247e766a9b4a809.PNG

1) Does the FOV-type matter in this case?

2) I used the Aim-alternative "Hipfire (Config File FOV), I put "cl_fovScale "1.2376" in profile.cfg - But the calculation says "cl_fovScale 1.272159", should I change it?

3) After the edit my FOV according to in-game is 88 and if I adjust it from the menu the cl_fovScale in profile.cfg reverts to "1.45375" - What should I do here?

4) The bottom highlighted line, Actual HFOV: 105.35 degrees - Is that the actual numbers I should be using to replicate 103 FOV from Overwatch and if so how do I adjust it without offsetting the change I did to cl_fovsScale?

Thanks again for your patience and wisdom.

@DPI Wizard Any chance you can shed some more light on my recent post? :)

  1. The FOV type does not matter as the correct actual and config FOV will be calculated based on your selection. The idea behind changing FOV Type is so you can easily convert from one type to another. In you case you should enter 103 for Apex so it's identical to Overwatch, and the output will show you what you need to configure to get this FOV.
  2. The calculation says 1.272159 because this is the default value and you haven't changed it. If you change from 105.34 to 103 in the calculator you should get the correct value.
  3. In-game is showing the wrong values, so just ignore that.
  4. This is the default value automatically loaded when you select the game/aim. Change it to 103 in the calculator, and see the Config FOV line for what you need to configure :)

On a side note, I had to lock the config file in read only or the game would erase the fov line

Strange, I never had this issue. But I've seen a lot of people having to do this for several games. Not sure what causes it to be overwritten for some but not everyone. It might be related to some cloud option, but I have that on as well.

I don't think it's because of the cloud feature. The line is deleted on game startup. Not a really big issue but just something to keep in mind

Thanks for the reply! So to wrap this up..

I'll put 103 FOV ingame, 0.9 for my sensitivity and the multiplier should be simply "1"?

Besides that, after doing the adjustments you said I get these cl_fovScale values, which one is the one I should use?

Thanks again.

I did some testing in the training area and that's what I found :

- There is a slight mouse smoothing

- Strafing while trying to keep cursor on a precise point will induce mouse stuttering (like the mouse not responding for a very short delay). I understand now why my cq fights were messy sometimes.

I hope it'll get fixed soon by the devs. Also adding the option to modify sens by scope would be welcome

EDIT: I forgot to tell that I was at 118 fps locked, and no fps drops occured during testing

You should reach out to the official EA forum with this so that they can read it somewhere.

It is, but I also shared the issue with the flick shot delay because otherwise we might change nothing by just complaining :D

hello

i was setting up the sensitivity on the training and i realized that the ads sensitivity is lower than the hip sensitivity , it seems like for me the 1.33 ads multiplier gives a 1:1 sensitivity for me ... am i doing it wrong or the number is correct ?

of course i did not try it with the scoped rifles because i think they already have some zoom on them but tried it with wingman and shotguns and  the 1.33 felt 1:1

Hey, can someone let me know if these conversions are correct? I'm new to this so I don't know much about whether to use 360 distance or monitor distance for conversion. Used 360 to monitor distance horizontal for conversion setup with both at 0%. Thanks!!

This is correct. Do note that the scaling you have in BO4 (Monitor Distance Coefficient 1.78) is very different from the scaling in Apex which is locked to 0. So your calculation will work fine for ADS, but more powerful scopes will probably feel to slow for you.

ADS is ironsights, Holo is 1x scope. Holo actually has a wider FOV than ironsight on the guns I've tested. You can see the FOV in the output of the calculator, it depends on your resolution and FOV configuration.

No, I need to get it analyzed first. Will add it as soon as it's done.

Hi!
Can someone help me with what FOV i should set in Apex to match my FOV in Overwatch?
Below is a screenshot with my correct values for overwatch, but i don't know which one of all the FOV-options i should set in Apex for it to feel the same as the 103 i have in Overwatch.

Is it 90,  73.74 or 106.26?

Do like this (select the same FOV Type and enter the same FOV value as in Overwatch), and set the Config FOV you see in the output in the %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\profile\profile.cfg file:

@DPI Wizard Hey maybe u can help me one more time :D , im playing csgo on 16:9 1920 x1080p same for apex . Im using 90 fov (default )  in apex and in csgo (console says fov_cs_debug 0 i guess its the same like 90 ) . if i take Hdeg 16:9 in calculator then it says 106.26 for csgo and for 4:3 Hdeg 90. so which fov is the right one for apex ?

Set the Apex FOV to

cl_fovScale 1.285714

in %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\profile\profile.cfg

The in-game slider is very inaccurate.
