Does the FOV have an effect on the mouse sensitivity?
In Bf3 I used a FOV of 90°, in Bf4 I’m using 110.

I have an 1800 DPI mouse for BF3 but i don’t know how to find my sens in the decimal that everyone else seems to have? Can you tell me how to find that so i can get my BF4 to match?

Open the file %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Battlefield 3\settings\PROF_SAVE_profile, and look for the line with GstInput.MouseSensitivity, this is your sensitivity. Use the calculator to convert this value to BF4, and enter it in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Battlefield 4\settings\PROFSAVE_profile

Use a program like Notepad++ to edit the files  :)

As of today's patch the BF4 config is in %USERPROFILE%DocumentsBattlefield 4 Betasettings

I noticed when I logged in and my sensitivity was all wacky and all my kebinds were reset.

The Bf4 Vehicle Calculator is wrong !!!

In bf3 max is 5

In bf4 max (100% is 1 )

Hey man you know i love your site, sorry if i missed this but Battlefield 4 feels strange if i change scheme sense or use stock, do you calculate with GstInput.Scheme0Sensitivity 0.0 or stock 0.1 ?

No probs i figured it was stock values u used. The player movement and momentum from BF3 to BF4 is very different and doesn't feel as switchy to me so leaves it feeling sluggish. GstInput.Scheme0Sensitivity directly affects GstInput.MouseSensitivity and GstInput.Scheme1Sensitivity affects GstInput.MouseSensitivityVehicle.

I've played around with GstInput.Scheme0Sensitivity a little bit now, and it does not affect the sensitivity at all on my system. The counts/360 remains exactly the same when it is changed. BF4 also feels as snappy as BF3 for me, but I've read a lot of comments about BF4 feeling sluggish in comparison to BF3 for some people. Are you on Windows 8/8.1?

Actually the infantry calculator feels alright to me. But the vehicle feels a lot faster than the infantry settings. I play super low sensitivity so I feel pretty small discrepancies.

P.S. Max Payne 3 is on the vote list twice.

Doh, you're right, merged them now :) The vehicle calculations are just for the tank driver, the gunner use almost the same sensitivity as infantry (an update with precise calculations is coming). Since the the main turret have a maximum speed/acceleration, it will feel sluggish (intentional and by design obviously) and actual distance/360 will vary depening on your DPI settings and how fast you move your mouse. You need to move your mouse very slowly to get the calculated distance. It will only turn about half way around if you move your mouse quickly over the calculated distance.

I'm not sure if some of your values are correct for BF4. It says it should take ~93 cm/360 with .0045 ing and 450 DPI. However, when I try it out in game, it takes me ~88 cm/360. I know this because I measured it and my mouse pad is 91 cm wide and I complete a 360 degree turn before I reach the edge of my mouse pad. If you can confirm this and or fix this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Can you share you calculations with bf4 & logitech 700s. Seens like you have the same setup as me.

pov: 90

resolution is 1920×1080

Do you mean what settings I use? If so, I use sensitivity 0.00075 and quickswitch between 8200 DPI and 3600 DPI for hipfire, and 2400 DPI for ADS. G700s DPI is off by about 10% btw (at least mine), so if you want precise calculations add approx. 10% to your DPI. I.e. use 9000 instead of 8200, 4000 instead of 3600 etc.

WOW, those are really high DPI. Wouldn't your cursor be bouncing off the walls!!

i set mine to 500 dpi, distance 360 value @ 4.5""

gives me a 0.064813 sensitivity.

Am i doing something wrong? What is your 360 value set at?

Let me know. Thanks

There's really no reason not to use max DPI unless the mouse sensor is bad when at max, or if the game settings do not allow you to get the preferred distance with max DPI. Other than being way too sensitive in the menus that is... Some games do have a separate menu sensitivity though. I have about 3.3" @ 8200 DPI, and about 7.5" @ 3600. One of the most under-used features of the calculator is the DPI conversion: If you select BF4 as both current and new game, then enter your current settings (500 DPI, 4.5" distance), and enter 8200 DPI for the new game, you will get the sensitivity you need to set with 8200 DPI in order to get the exact same distance as with 500 DPI. But at 8200 DPI the movement will be smoother :) With your current settings you have about 2500 counts/360. That means that the minimum distance you can move your crosshair is about 2 pixels. Take a look at this page, you are currently using a sensitivty equal to the second one from the top. If you convert to 8200 DPI your movement will be twice as smooth as the bottom one!

Thanks Mr Wizard!!

I'll give it a try when I get home. I'll report back on my findings. I prefer to use 1 setting. no need to do quickswitch DPI. Its tough enough to try and kill a tango. one less variable to push. lol

After the update the BF4 sensitivities on this site aren't accurate for me. this site told me 0.007272 sens with 1600 DPI would give me a 360 in 8 inches but it did in like 10.

BF4 is still the same, make sure that raw mouse input is on. Also remember that mouse sensors usually do not deliver the exact DPI they are set to, so your measurement might be a little off compared to the calculations.

Can you please give us the measurement for the minimum sensitivity you need to be at least pixel-accurate in:

BF3 at default FOV (70)

BF4 at default FOV (70)

Thanks in advance,

Naif
