Just wanted to ask after reading the note on the game for the negative acceleration I'm getting mixed results online for how to fix this. You say to have a low report rate. Do you mean lowering the polling rate of the mouse? and if so how do you test it to make sure you lowered the polling rate enough? Some Sites have said to increase polling rate though to help with negative acceleration so I figured I would just ask you to know for sure.

Yes, lower report rate from the mouse. This means the game gets fewer packets to handle, and drops less. If you use a high report rate the game gets overloaded with packets and drops a lot more.
