Days Gone

There will be a deadzone if the sensitivity is too low. This is based on your FOV, so see the "Minimum Sensitivity" calculation in the output and lower your DPI if the calculated Mouse X Sensitivity is below this.

i don't have the game, but if there is no option, then you might also have to add: bEnableMouseSmoothing=False

Smoothing seems to be disabled by default, the only issue with this game is the deadzone when 1 count is less than 1 milliradian.

weird that the FOV option is a multiplier, but Digital Foundry also mentioned they had to increase the FOV to 77 to match the console version.

does the photo mode show the actual FOV? on PCGW it says vertical FOV. that can't be right? https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Days_Gone#Video

Photo mode has the same FOV as normal look mode. It's a vertical FOV based multiplier, but the true FOV is just a bit over half the configured value.

They just pushed out a patch specifically for fixing mouse issues, I'm loving these devs already.

PATCH NOTES

Fixed camera issues when using a mouse
Fixed difficulties with the mouse feeling like there is a “dead zone”

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1259420/view/3051730665677358712

Edit: Just tested the game with the sensitivity below previous threshold, seems to behave normally now.

Very nice, works as intended now!

@DPI Wizard

There is an FOV slider in game now.

Also the game resets your mouse sens to the in game value and writes that to the config file. This is rounded to the nearest decimal or two decimal points it seems, so 0.732641 becomes 0.7 and 0.079922 becomes 0.08 - this could make a big difference if you're just above or below the half way point since 0.749 or 0.751 would be 0.7 or 0.8 respectively. Setting the inpuit config file to "read only" fixes the values in the file but I'm not sure if the game still rounds it up anyway - hard to say yet with my values.

The FOV slider is not new, it is already in the calculator :)

The config file settings will reset only if you enter the options menu, as long as you don't do that they will remain with all the correct decimals in the config file. I've added this info to the game now.

@DPI Wizard Thanks 👍for the info about the config file - the keybinds in this game suffer from consolitis big time so I'm in and out of the menu all the time, that's probably why I didn't notice that aspect. Re the FOV, the only mention of FOV i saw is in the pic below and only mentions the config file but as long as you're aware, no worries.

You have to select the in-game location to see the info regarding in-game settings. When config file is selected, it will always refer to the config file setting if they are available.
