FOV in Destiny 2 maxes out at 105 in game, 100.8 in actuality, if I recall correctly. Hence the usage of viewspeed and monitor distance over cm/360. Which I think is what's going on here, if someone else can confirm...

Correct. The discrepancy between the configured FOV and the actual FOV might be just a bug though.

Random noob question since im new to Pc FPS with destiny 2 but is the ADS sensitivity modifier effected by how high/low your look(hipfire) sensitivity is.

For example if my hipfire is 8 and my ADS sens mod is 1.3 would the  distance traveled for my 360 vary as opposed to if my hipfire sens was 15 and ADS sens mod the same.

Or are they two distinct values that have separate distances?

Yes, they are linked in Destiny 2. And not a noob questions since some games have them independent, like PUBG ;)

Why Viewspeed or monitor distance?

I have 6.4 @ 900 dpi in Overwatch (equivalent to 7.2 @ 800 dpi and 14.4 @ 400 dpi). Overwatch FOV is 103.

Should I set FOV to 107 in Destiny 2 to compensate? The error % changes drastically for some of the values when I do that. Not sure if I should

105 is the max FOV for D2.

I do wonder, which ADS should we use? Viewspeed or monitor distance?

Viewspeed is pretty close to 70% Monitor Distance, and a lot games have 0%, 75% or 100% Monitor Distance as the default scope sensitivity. It's down to personal preference, but I think most people prefer around 75%.

So, Viewspeed/Monitor Distance should be used only when converting ADS yeah? I'm a little confused :(

The FoV gets bigger when you go in 3rd person. You notice it on "The Farm" I'm assuming that is where you get the max FoV and they aren't telling us that the 1st person FoV is less.

105 configured, 100.8 actual.

Uff I was hoping for at least 107 (106.26 to be precise :D )

If they fix the weird discrepancy between configured and actual it will be very close at least.

Yeah, let's hope the best :D  Still, I don't get why so many game producers are so greedy about an few extra degrees of fov

Yeah hope so too, kind of bothers me because I want to atleast match my 360/cm from overwatch to Destiny 2 but I can't because the FoV is off.
Not sure where to like ask them for it. i tried the feedback forums but your post ends up getting buried heavily.

Viewspeed/Monitor Distance should be used any time FOVs aren't matching 100%, which is the only time sensitivity can be matched exactly between games. ADS zooms the screen in, so the sensitivity can't truly be matched. Viewspeed and Monitor Distance are ways to approximate the feel of a certain sensitivity when FOVs don't match.

Reason sensitivity can't be matched 100% with differing FOV is because the edges of the screen move faster than the center, with that speed discrepancy growing larger as FOV grows.

Most games approximate ADS sensitivity using Monitor Distance, matching at 75%

I successfully converted my Overwatch sens for Destiny 2 hipfire, but what do I do for the ADS multiplier if I want it to be identical to the hipfire sens? Also, have they fixed the FOV discrepancy?

I have not analyzed more scopes yet, will update when I have done it. The current ADS calculations are based on the Nightshade red dot sight, which has half the configured FOV.

But do either viewspeed or a monitor distance you prefer for the ADS.

I also need to check if the FOV discrepancy in the release version behaves differently, have not gotten to it yet.

I just tried to calculate my FoV in 3rd person and it seems to be 89.2 degrees with the default setting at 85. So the value in the settings is the average of both 1st and 3rd person FoV. It's really weird that they didn't simply use the setting to set the 1st person FoV since we don't really care about the 3rd FoV anyways...

Updated the ADS formula slightly. The base 1st person FOV is still 96% of what you configure, and ADS is based on this value instead of the configured value.

Guys I need help....

Is there any option to adjust my sensitivity in the config files? I need to make finer adjustments...

No files to configure unfortunately, but I'm guessing they will add at least 1 decimal to the sensitivity in-game eventually.

So I'm a bit confused how do I use the calculator. I wanna convert my ow sens of 7 and dpi of 400 to destiny.

Fill it out like this, and change the resolution and FOV according to your settings:

For ADS you do like this, and change in addition the Multiplier 1 to your Zoom sensitivity from Overwatch, and under Destiny 2 enter the calculated sensitivity under Sensitivity 1. Select either Viewspeed or Monitor Distance, not 360 distance for this conversion.

@DPI Wizard Hi I just brought this subscription and had a question. How come for that you put 1000 dpi but his is only 400. Is there also a windows mouse setting we should be using? I'm on 7 ticks for windows mouse and 800 dpi for my mouse. I use 8 sense in ow. How would I convert that to destiny 2? Thank you!

I just use 1000 normally when testing stuff, forgot to change it.

As long as the WPS (Windows Pointer Speed) field in the calculator is disabled, the game supports raw mouse input which should always be used if it is an option.
For your conversion, just do like the example above, but change the values to yours.
