Widowmaker DOES have a separate sensitivity for zoomed in scope. You have to select Widowmaker at the top right("All Heroes") selection, and "Relative Aim Sensitivity While Zoomed" will appear under the HERO category, below the reticle.

 

At 103 FoV, relative aim sensitivity has to be 38 to be equivalent to unzoomed sensitivity in screen distance travelled. (Explanation by someone else here)

 

Oh, there was a second page detailing it. Anyhow, 38 is what you're looking for if you want equivalent to zoom_sensitivity 1 in CS:GO, as that makes it the same movement to cover the same screen distance regardless of scoping.

Overwatch is now updated with full support for the Relative Aim Sensitivity for Widowmaker :)

 

And it's not Relative Aim 38 to match the screen distance at 103 FOV, it's 50.

 

And the math is quite simple; The Relative Aim is a multiplier, and the FOV is about half. So by setting it to 50 your 360 distance doubles, but since the the FOV is ~half, the screen distance is the same.

The way you have to do it now is like this:

Select Windows as "Convert from" and enter your desired distance. This is the 2D distance, meaning how far you want to move your mouse to cross the screen in Windows. Then select Overwatch and Hipfire as Convert to:

Now note the Sensitivity 1 for Overwatch (5) and the ratio (6.0316).

Then select Widowmaker ADS in the Convert to Aim, and enter 5 as Sensitivity 1:

It now calculates that with Sensitivity 5 you need to set the Relative aim to 50 to get a ratio of 6.0908, which is the closest match possible to 6.0316 :)

 

I have double checked this in-game, and it is correct.

I've made me a mess and don't understand anything :c

I have 10 hipfire with 800dpi at 1080p.. what sensitivity I need on widowmaker to feel the same way?

My fov is 103 as default so 50 sens for widow works fine for me as I tested right now. Thank you! btw, is accurate? I mean does it has discrepancy between 10 on hipfire and 50 on widowmaker?

It's as accurate as it can get it without any decimals. Still it should not be off by more than max 1% though.

Do you know what setting Relative Aim Sensitivity to 0 does? It feels really good and I have been using that.

Could you add Widow zoom sensitivity that is equal to zoom_sensitivity_ratio "1" in CS:GO?

yeah, and maybe for battlefield also, and in the future for all games containing a sniper rifle

Just verified that nothing changed between beta and release, so this should be correct. It will be off by about 6% though, since the Overwatch sensitivity is limited to whole numbers. But other than that it shouldn't feel too slow.

People over on Reddit still seem to be going by 38 instead of 50 for Widowmaker, based on this:

Definitely, the formula is a lot simpler than that.

 

The sensitivity scales linearly with FOV (for scoped, not for regular FOV), so it is simply 51/103=49.51. So by setting the relative aim to 50, you are effectively doubling the 360 distance, but since the FOV is half, the crosshair will cover the same 2D distance :)

I'd like to understand more about why they're wrong - can you tell what they think they were doing with the formula they were using?

 

When you look at this thread, which deals with a similar question in CS:GO, the guy finds two different numbers, one of which is correct for small mouse movements and one of which is correct for large mouse movements. Why are we only finding one number for OW?

Actually, let me moderate my answer a little; 50 is correct for edge-to-edge screen movement, while 37 is correct for moving 1 count.

The more you move with 37, the more it (quickly) deviates from the hipfire distance, and with 50 it's opposite; it gets more correct the more you move.

Hey all,

 

Been trying to wrap my head around the relative aim sensitivity. I currently doing the following settings:

From a sensitivity of 2 in game for over watch since I think that's where I should be at to match BF4. Where should I put Relative aim sensitivity to match my BF4 experience? Anyone know? Love this site btw, been a long time member!

are you playing bf4 with the default fov? do you have uniform aiming enabled with the coefficient at 133 %?

 

and what's your fov in overwatch?
