I am not home so I can't check it right now, but i think that converting directly Hipfire - Ironsight/Holo without first Hipfire - Hipfire and taking MouseSensitivityMultiplierUnit to second calculation results in large difference between Hipfire and Ironsight/Holo. In my case I managed to achieve very similar feeling for Hipfire and Ironsight, what feel more natural for me.

However , I will conform this when I will have chace to put proposed values in config file

You know these calculators can be used across different FOVs right? Like Viewspeed for example. I can convert between 74 FOV on BF4 and 83 FOV in Siege and it will feel the same.

Having the same FOV is not a necessity at all.

Sure, that works well too. I still prefer to match hipfire FOV if I can to preserve the movement between games. You are correct your aim around the crosshair would feel the same if you converted based on monitor match 0%.

As an aside what is the new calculator options for seige "All with ADS" "All with ACOG" etc.?

If you would like both to feel similar. Try this. Take note that you will need to mess with the config in order to set MouseSensitivityMultiplierUnit and XFactorAiming. And you must change both in order to get the same feel. Simply copy-paste the values and you should be good to go.

This will not be 100% exact because my brains half functioning right now and I can't work out how to do what you want to do properly but that is a very accurate approximation that should give your ADS and Hipfire roughly the same Viewspeed. Let me know if it feels any better :D

I think it basically takes your hipfire sensitivity. And creates all the ADS sensitivities from that based on whatever conversion method you choose. So for example. I use Viewspeed for my primary conversion methods. So if I click ALL. Then it will take my hipfire and essentially try to give my 1x scopes the same Viewspeed as my hipfire, if I choose ACOG then it should try to give my ACOG the same viewspeed as my hipfire. This is mainly for games like BF where you have like 8 different sensitivity settings and you want them all to feel the same so you can just throw in your Hipfire sensitivity and it will work it out for you. So you can convert between games faster.

That's my understanding at least. Personally, it doesn't apply to me due to me using a 33cm/360 hipfire and a 60-75cm/360 for ADS depending on what FOV I feel like using. (I switch between 74 and 83 quite frequently.). But for a lot of people, it could be very useful.

Thanks, it feel ok and it's similar to my method I posted before - it is difference of 3cm for Hipfire between using Viewspeed and Monitor Match 0%, so I have to decide for one option

I think for me both are good relative relation between Hipfire and Holo because as FOV changes only small amout , so cm/360 also change accordingly

Of course it is a matter of personal preference. I noticed that many people play with really high "jump" in distance from Hipfire to Holo - your first calculation was an example of this. As I remember it was like 33cm for Hipfire and  51 for Holo when FOV is really changing only few degrees :). My muscle memory can no way adapt to this:)

BTW is there any specific reason you prefer Viewspeed instead of Monitor Match 0%?

Yeah, that was exactly what I was going for with the 2nd calculation since people mainly have two approaches to it. The same Viewspeed/Monitor Match between Hipfire and ADS, Or significantly different settings for Hipfire and ADS.

As for my personal use of Viewspeed, it makes the most sense to me for what I need. I don't really need to flick/whip aim much since I play BF4 and R6S mainly. So being able to follow/track targets is much more important. Viewspeed for me personally helps this best. From my basic understanding of Viewspeed, it's basically how fast you feel like you're turning, so if I match for ADS between games, then whenever I ADS I'm always feeling like I'm turning the same amount, even if I'm not actually in terms of 360 distance. So it feels better for me personally when tracking opponents. I also easily notice if my Viewspeed is different between games and it really bothers me, like when I used 0% Monitor Match on BF4 and ended up with my Iron Sights feeling much slower than my 1x scope sensitivity and thus missing a lot of shots when using Iron Sights. (BF4 uses 2 different settings for Iron Sights and 1x scopes)

Plus I mess around with my FOV a lot so getting my ADS to feel the same between different FOV's is a massive help and Viewspeed does both for me really well.

Personal preference I suppose.

Have you tried to play with significantly different Hipfire and ADS - like in my case: 33cm/360 Hipfire and 51cm/360?
Honestly, I only tried it for short while, but maybe it has some long term advantage like ability to turn fast. I resigned from trying more because i thought it will mess my muscle memory and feel strange when switching Hipfire to Ironsight

I play with 33.2485cm/360 hipfire and 61.5713cm/360 for ADS in Siege. Every other game I ever play is converted from that.

The reason being. You don't need muscle memory on your Hipfire sensitivity at all. You're never gonna be aiming with hipfire with pinpoint accuracy, you only ever need hipfire for super close engagements when you get surprised and even at that you still wanna ADS as much as possible. So you just need to build and train on your ADS sensitivity which for me is most accurate around 61-72cm I've found. The higher Hipfire sensitivity is purely for moving around the map more comfortably and snappy.

The way I play makes me move maybe 75% the distance to a target with hipfire and the final 25% is when ADS'd with the lower sensitivity, making it more accurate across higher ranges When I'm just running around the map and see a target. But when I'm already ADS'd because all the aim training was done for my ADS sensitivity alone, I'm super snappy at ranges.

The only downside I've found is that if I'm only like 1-2ft away from people, it can be awkward to ADS and keep up with them due to my mouse not having a good enough sensor to keep up with very fast movements, so I usually end up hipfiring if I'm caught off-guard. But since my main games are BF4 and Siege, I'm usually outgunning most people in 1v1s and sometimes 1v2 scenarios.

For games like CSGO I Monitor Distance at 0% my ADS sens for CSGO's hipfire, and convert Sieges ACOG to CSGO's AWP and aim train with them.

(Just started using Monitor Match 0% to test, seems pretty good so far).

Love the calculator for Siege -- it works great.  Question: any chance we could get a Glaz scope setting?  The zoom level of his scope is not the same as it is for ACOG.  It is slightly more zoomed in.  Thanks!

Hi, I have a question regarding the ACOG  in Siege. I converted my desktop sensitivity using monitor distance, and it feels pretty similar in game now. The acog moves in a similar way as hipfire as well, actually it’s an identical distance monitor to mousepad all across the board.

However, the acog feels a bit nervous, due to the smaller fov, which brings me to my question.

If I bind ads (right mouse button) to also reduce dpi somewhat, I get a more comfortable aim with the acog. Is there any way I can calculate how much movement I should have with the acog and lower dpi, for it to feel similar to hipfire/holo?

Thanks a bunch for your time

@DPI Wizard

@Skwuruhl

I figured out what the vFOV percentage reduction is for Glaz's scope!  It's 30% of your vFOV.  ACOG, as mentioned before by @Skwuruhl, is 35%.

Now of course for reasons already discussed, this means different default FOV values will produce different zoom levels in each scope.

I'm assuming that the mouse sensitivity multiplier for Glaz's scope is also 30%, since it seems to be 35% for ACOG (same as the vFOV percentage).  A quick (but not thorough) test seems to agree.  Using the ACOG setting for viewspeed_v2 to match with hipfire with Glaz's scope makes it feel just a tad too slow, in case this might be good to know.

With this in mind, could we update the calculator to include Glaz's scope?  Also, I have more findings that show how to exactly align your ACOG, 1x, and hipfire sensitivities using viewspeed_v2.  It has to do with finding slider values that allow the calculator to produce very close XFactorAiming values.  I have a method which is able to do this for any FOV given, and as proof, I encourage posters to try the following with an FOV of 74:

Set XFactorAiming=0.015205

MouseSensitivityMultiplierUnit can be anything you want

MouseSensitivity can also be anything you want (mine is set to 1, and i do everything in the MouseSensitivityMultiplierUnit)

Set your DefaultFOV to 74 and do not change it!

Now, in game:

Set your ADS slider to 100 if you are using a 1x sight (so most defense operators), and 70 if you will be using ACOG.

No, you can't exactly align both at the same time, but the slider method allows you to at least adjust at the start of the round.

The above method can be adapted readily to any FOV you choose, but you won't be using the same slider values or XFactorAiming value.  It must be computed specifically for the DefaultFOV you are using.  The above values are ONLY for a DefaultFOV of 74.

I will be able to extend this method to include Glaz's scope too once added to the calculator.

This makes aiming much, much easier in Siege!  So, what do you say @DPI Wizard?  Do you think you could add Glaz in for me? :)

If my aspect ratio is set to 16:9, do I need to set the FOV type in the calculator to Hdeg 16:9 or should it stay set to Vdeg?

Link to comment

I'm clueless. The only FOV value I have is from the in-game slider.

So I found this...

First comment explains how Siege's FOV works. If I go to the calculator, set FOV to Vdeg 90, then set to Hdeg 16:9, it will automatically convert to 121.28. I understand now.

And what is the method of that new pistol's optical sight? same as acog or?

Hey Wizard, could you think about adding the MouseMultiplierUnit option when you convert a sensitivity into a rainbow six siege hipfire sensitivity ? So we can change it from the basic 0.02 . Would be very useful ! :)

It does indeed work from Rainbow six > Battlefield, but it looks like that when I do Battlefield > Rainbow Six 😕

The multiplier will be the calculated value when you convert to R6 with config file, so you need to fill out your Sensitivity 1. This is more accurate than doing it the other way around :)
