I belive the calculator for Rainbow Six is not accurate - by trying to calculate the multiplier for the ini-file for 28cm/360, the calc tells me a (smaller) value which doesnt give me a 360 turn in-game, maybe its just a 340 or something.

What values are you getting, and what are you entering? A screenshot would be nice :)

I was talking with you on converting my BF 4 ADS 360 rotation, which should be 7.81452 based on my understanding [7.0 inch Hipfire 360 x 1.116360 multiplier, using a Coyote sight with non-uniform aiming enabled].  I am using a 800 dpi with a GstInput.MouseSensitivity 0.023050

 

I am trying to achieve the same thing in R6 Siege, using a standard Holographic sight.  I now understand the difference between simple and non-simple for the calculator.  That said, can you confirm if the following settings would achieve my goal.

 

DPI=800

MouseSensitivity=50
MouseSensitivityMultiplierUnit=0.004488
AimDownSightsMouse=50
XFactorAiming=0.055835

I haven't analyzed the Holo sight actually, if it's not the same as the iron sight, I need to analyze it.

ok, that means ironsights/1x optics have a 0.9 fov multiplier and a 0.6 sens multiplier.

 

imho it's best for muscle memory when fov multiplier and sens multiplier are identical.

in order to achieve this the calculation is:

 

0.9/0.6/0.02=75

 

AimDownSightsMouse=75

XFactorAiming=0.020000

 

the only difference to csgo is that r6 siege uses vertical fov, whereas csgo scales with horizontal fov based on 4:3, but the difference is miniscule.

 

Srsly, I dont understand this calculation - based on the post from Mollikye in reddit, you basically need to set the XFactorAimings to 0.033333 in order to get the same sensitivity for ADS as Hipfire or I´m getting something wrong?

Just tested that nothing changed with the last patch, and the calculations are correct. However, you are probably not getting 28 cm / 360 because of sensor inaccuracy, have you tried the DPI Analyzer to check what your real DPI is?

this will give you the same distance/360, but not the same ratio. (10 % fov reduction, 0 % sensitivity reduction)

 

e.g. with acog scope XFactorAiming=0.066667 gives you the same distance/360 as hip-fire, but it will feel much faster because the fov is way lower.

Thanks for the fast response - I didn´t test it yet accurate with the DPI Analyzer but will do now. Does it matter if I switch the Windows settings to 3 or 4 for the test? (Normally using 6) since with 800DPI and Windows Setting set to 6, the longest possible distance is about 5.5cm.

 

Edit: A "fast" test showed me a DPI value of 745 - is it normal that the DPI value is way off? I´m using a Zowie ZA11 (ADNS-3310).

This is pretty annoying since you would need two XFactor Aiming values for the 1x scopes and the 2.5x scopes...(btw how did you calculate now the 0.066667 value? - currently I´m trying to understand the calc stuff)...

according to the dev post both fov and sens for the acog scope are reduced by 70 % = 0.3 multiplier.

XFactorAiming=0.02/0.3=0.0666667


i get ~760 with my avior 7000 and ~725 with a roccat savu at 800 dpi. iirc it was ~415 with a msie 3.0.

Unfortunately, yes. Up to 10% off plus or minus seem to be pretty common.

You get different ratio because the FOV is different. I'm working on a ratio conversion, so you can match ratio between games, but it's not ready yet.

 

When it comes to what the goal is, this is a personal preference. Some prefer a constant 360 distance, others prefer a constant "2D" distance, i.e. ratio. There's no wrong or right here, just what you prefer :)

Thank you for the explanation - ye I increased the FOV at R6 until I got the same ratio as I have in Depth which feels more familiar. Anyway it´s a great tool which I will use from now on.

Thank you, but tell me my calculations in my previous post were correct in this topic? I'm not sure that made all like advised the DPI Wizard, and if so I want to understand the problem and be able to change  it  to the same when set no standart sensivity.

Assuming you haven't changed any of the multipliers in the ini file, you would enter your sensitivity into the conversion calculator as you normally would, then also set the "multiplier" which by default is .02

It should also be noted that if you want to match CS:GO's FoV in Siege, the setting would be about 74(73.74) vertical degrees (which translates to 90 horizontal on 4:3)

 

EDIT: You can also select "Hipfire (Simple)" from the drop-down menu and it will enter the default multiplier for you.

if you're used to playing siege with a different fov, e.g. 60, then i would scale the sensitivity like this: 3 * 73.74 / 60 = 3.687

 

otherwise it won't feel the same if you only increase the fov.

Quick question before I even try, what's the fastest way to get the ACOG?

You get some currency for watching the tutorial videos and also for doing the situations (which can be done on easy and still get max currency, just need to do the challenges for those). Then any attacker except Glaz has a weapon you can put an ACOG on.

Thank you very much! While this might be trivial knowledge to most people, remember that I maintain almost 200 games now (that I don't regularly play), and simple instructions like this get me a long way without guessing :)
