There's an option to use cheat engine. I'm trying it out, but can't seem to get it to work. Will it even save once I switch to the mode with anti-cheat?

  1. Open settings
  2. Change sensitivity to random value (say 6.9)
  3. Close settings and save on exit
  4. Search for float using cheat engine: 6.9
  5. When search is finished open settings
  6. Change sensitivity to new value (say 4.2)
  7. Close settings and save on exit
  8. Search for 4.2 in cheat engine
  9. etc.

Once you're narrowed down to 3 (iirc) values, highlight them all and add to address list, then change them to your desired value.

Damn it, no more than one decimal supported by the game. More decimals in the config file will not be read and replaced with zeros. Setting the file to read-only doesn't help.

Config file is working for me, can you try again and confirm? It's persisting through restarts as well.

EDIT: Did more testing and now it stopped working. To help confirm it WAS(?) working:

1.25 Quake/Source sensitivity

1.238000 MCC Config sensitivity

Using the 360 test on Kovaak's sensitivity matcher I was able to get a near perfect 360 after editing the config and eventually somehow getting it to "work". Changing the in-game sensitivity to 1.2 resulted in undershooting the 360. Changing the sensitivity to 1.3 resulted in overshooting. This would confirm the config change worked, right?

EDIT 2: I found out how to get the config to apply.

With the game closed, edit your config. I did all 7, not sure if it matters. Save the file.

Open MCC, and start a campaign mission. Test a 360, it should overshoot or undershoot. Save and quit to menu.

Start a different mission, and test a 360. It should be perfect assuming you put in your correct sensitivity.

I've tested in a custom multiplayer game, multiple campaign missions and so far it's persisting.

EDIT 3: At some point it reverted back to 1.2 sens even with the file on read-only.

is this correct?

is 78.28 actually 90 in apex and the mouse sens is the same? I make mistakes when using this, just wanted to double check

this has been mentioned on page 2 image.png.3ebbb0339ad1749e78686ee8ff24c33e.png the fov is lower than it should be since they did not put effort into it  , you can just manually match the fov to be the same

what is the correct fov conversion? This does not feel right

FOV doesn't automatically convert unlike sensitivity. Make sure to manually type in 90 16:9 for Halo.

Tried Cheat Engine but no search returns anything for Halo. IDK if it's because of anticheat or my CE settings are wrong, and if it's the former I don't know how to disable that either 😅

That said, if anticheat has to be disabled there'd be no way to have the settings you want in multiplayer huh? Guess you can pick a "main" weapon and just adjust the ADS for that lol

1. Start game without anticheat

2. Set sensitivity with cheat engine

3. Close game

4. Start game with anticheat

does this only apply to the steam version of the game, also where/how do you use cheat engine to change the settings? I cant find a guide anywhere, can someone link or help?

Any chance you could have another look at this? I set my sens in the file to 2.123456 and then launched the game. In game it says 2.1. I quit again and the file still says 2.123456. I'm wondering if it takes affect as long as I don't change any settings in game or if it'll still round up to 2.1 regardless of what the file says. 🤞

might just be visual round like most other games do ( apex / csgo etc )

you can test that as well by setting the number to something that would round up / down compared to what it currently might be doing

Still confused on how to use Cheat engine to set the sens, cant seem to find a tutorial anywhere on it. Also does this only work for the Steam version of the game, and does the cheat engine thing actually work? I've read this whole thread and it seems like some people say it works others say it just reverts. Whats the verdict?

^anything not explained here can be figured out with a quick yt /google search

if you change it via cheat engine and then proceed not changing anything else in the in game settings  that works fine

the only ones mentioning the reverse would be the ones still trying to change the settings file ( which doesn't count decimals )

It's not actually Hdeg 16:9, it's a multiplier based on Hdeg 4:3 to almost mimic Hdeg 16:9. That's why there's a slight difference.

How is FoV calculated? I can't find any sources stating what aspect ratio they use

Hey Wizard,

Just wondering why it is that you don't have Halo 3 nor Halo 3: ODST added on your list of games. Is it because changing sensitivity value in one game automatically changes sensitivity value in another? I'm asking because I actually haven't bought the game yet and considering it. Also, is there already a solution to the game not reading the config file without replacing it? Thank you very much!

Yes, they all use the same settings.
