  1. I'd guess no (or not as well as on the Rival 310) because the G Pro doesn't have the indents for the rubber side grips like Rival has so you'd probably get some noticeable edges. If you're looking for more grip on the G Pro I'd look into a little thinner materials so you don't feel the edges underneath your fingers, something like this should work. There's also the more sandpaper type material, like the Artisan Teppeki if you prefer a rougher surface:
  2. Yeah, it's great to see more games starting to adapt ads scaling as a sensitivity setting, Insurgency: Sandstorm seems to use 56.25% by default as well with sliders for hipfire, aiming, scoping and focus. It's perhaps not a perfect solution compared to separate sliders for everything but it's a nice change in direction for sure.
  3. When you're aiming down sight and hold/toggle shift you get a little more zoom, it has a different (lower) sensitivity and a slider to adjust it.
  4. Could the sensitivity for the "Focus" mode be added as well or is the sensitivity reduction scope dependant? Also, I was wondering if setting the "Aiming" and "Scope" sensitivies to 1.0/1.000003 will give the same scaling (56.25% Monitor Match?) for every scope or do different scopes have a preset sensitivity reduction/scaling in addition to the slider?
  5. Check the default "My Documents" folder in windows. The config file location is also stated in the Game Info under the calculator if have the game set as either the input or output in the calculator: Config file: GameSettings.ini Path: %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Rainbow Six - Siege\[USERID]
  6. Insurgency: Sandstorm should be possible this beta? There's apparently no NDA on the pre order beta 1 running from from August 9 through August 1.
  7. Yes and no, I've learned to play with sort of a hybrid grip where I have like a third of my palm resting on the rear and then curl my fingers slightly so they just reach the edge of the buttons/right side corner. It is fairly comfortable with most mice but since I can't keep my fingers straight I tend to start trying to adjust my grip after a while and the longer I play the more I transition into a fingertip grip and then suddenly the rear of the mouse isn't supported by my palm anymore which allows it to move and that it turn makes the cursor do a little arc down to the sides. This isn't usually a problem but I often have all-day pubg duo sessions with a friend and that's where this really starts to show. I've found the most natural way for me to grip is to lay my hand palm first on the back of the mouse and lightly press in with the base of my thumb and right side of the hand to sort of "lock in" the grip. Then I take my ring finger and thumb and use those as my main grip on the mouse as well as contact points to pivot to the sides. The other fingers just lay straight, this is where a high front right edge (like the G403) is important because it has to fit both my ring and pinky finger next to each other. The rear is always in contact with my palm to provide a stable base(like the buttstock of a gun) for the pivoting motion, otherwise I'll get the arcing I mentioned earlier. This is why I think I need a mouse with at least 130mm of length, the hump should pretty far back as well because I tend to do the "lock in" grip automatically so if the hump doesn't fill out the palm enough I tend to tense up my palm enough that it makes contact with the shell and that's pretty rough on the wrist area. Fingertip is a real wrist-killer for me because of this, especially with smaller mice I eventually find myself gripping so much that my whole palm and wrist is all tensed up. No, I haven't spent way too much time analyzing the way I like to grip my mouse
  8. Not for palm grip though? I have ~20cm hands and can't think of many mice I can actually palm and have most of my palm in contact with the mouse. I've tried for example the EC1-A, G403 and Deathadder and they all force me to use somewhat of a fingertip grip with my palm hovering from roughly around the knuckles. If I were to put my palm to the rear of the shell I'd have quite a bit of my fingertips hanging over the edge.
  9. Sounds good! I've been looking at switching from my G403 to something with a little more length (130mm or so) and tbh it seems there's not too much to choose from. I was looking at the 600, the 300s with Truemove1 as well as the Fnatic Clutch 2 and was kind of leaning towards the Fnatic because of how straight the right side is. It kind of has a similar shape to the G403 with the roomy front corners so that helps too, I really like the overall shape but it's just too short to palm with 20x10cm hands. Personally, I can't grip mice that flare out at the top front right either because I tend to grip pretty hard with my ringfinger there and any ridge there just doesn't work for that. However, It seems the Rival 600 has a pretty flat/straight front right so maybe it could work, I'm just a little worried about the gaps and angles on the shell it's pretty expensive in the end. If anyone has other recommendations in this size I'd appreciate it a lot. Also, has anyone noticed how annoying it is to try and find a mouse based on dimensions? It seems no site allows you to filter based on that. I honestly started thinking I should setup a website for this, kind of like what rjn has but with more details and filtering options, more like a database of mice. I've had some ideas about keyboard switch & mousepad testing as well as comparisons/reviews so that could be another feature. Too bad I know nothing about web page development so idk, maybe wix has a template that works for this.
  10. Yeah I couldn't get any values I pasted into the .ini to work at all, I think you have to use the in game keys ([ & ]) to set it more precisely than what the slider allows. The keys are stupidly sensitivity though so I had to make a logitech bind that only presses it quickly. ADS sensitivity you have to use the slider, it does move in smaller steps than what the number shows so you have to move it a small step and check with notepad++ how much it changed. Not the most intuitive way to do it but that's the only way I got it to work, if any one gets the .ini to accept pasted values it'd help a lot.
  11. Yeah, I know some people really dislike the site for having paywalls but I gladly paid for lifetime membership not only for the calculations but because of how quickly questions and requests are handled.
  12. There's just been an update on the project, it will now use the 3389 sensor instead of the 3360 This is great news especially for those of use who use windows - game matching as the dpi steps of 50 instead of 100 gives us a lot more sensitivity options As posted by bst (Russell) on the Ninox indiegogo:
  13. Insurgency: Sandstorm? The Closed Technical Alpha just went live so I was wondering if you had gotten a key this time around.
  14. Most aftermarket mousefeet seem to increase the thickness a little from the original indeed. Hyperglide especially like to do this (Their G403 feet will be 0.8mm instead of the stock 0.5/0.6?) because of the rounded edges on their feet and while it does help with making sure nothing catches on the mouse pad it also noticeably changes the dpi. However, I don't really think it should cause any problems as long as you have enough lift of distance to get the same tracking quality with the extra height. If you really wanted to compensate for it you could probably find out the difference in thickness and then using the difference in thickness calculate the new dpi value and use that in the calculator. I know someone on ocn calculated how much difference a 0.1mm change in sensor height makes to the actual dpi but I can't remember how much it was. Personally, I don't really care enough to calculate anything so I would just try to get used to the new sensitivity or change it until it feels the same. That's what I did when I put Intellimouse hyperglides (0.85mm) on my G403 anyway and I haven't had a problem since. You could use the Surface Tuning in LGS to optimize the lift of distance but since the G403 already has plenty I don't think you even have to do that, afaik it only reduces the distance anyway. The best option is of course to use the same thickness feet as stock like Drimzi suggested.
  15. At this point I would assume it's referring to basic keystroke macro functionality like what you'd see on your typical mouse software but I can't say for sure, bst hasn't specified anything on ocn or reddit anyway. As far as I know he's taking it one step at a time and as such has lately been focusing mostly on getting the crowdfunding going smoothly so there hasn't been too much info released about the state of either the firmware or software other than that it has the basic functions you'd expect. I think the plan is to focus on the software side of things while the manufacturing process is underway. What we do know is that both the firmware and software is developed "in house" so anything is possible really as long as it's supported by the hardware, might honestly be worth reaching out to him if you're looking for something specific. I asked about dpi interpolation for games like Warframe and he said he would actually like to include the functionalities of the povohat driver in the software if it's possible so he's certainly open to ideas. For a while the ability to use custom firmware was considered as well but I think that was scrapped because of potential issues with tournament regulations. Lots of info on here, some of it beyond what I understand to be quite honest: bst's reddit Overclock.net thread
  16. I figured I'd post this here because I imagine some of you might be interested in this mouse. This isn't my project or even text, it's just a copy paste of the document in the official press pack released by Ninox as well as links to the official pages so you can check it out. I just felt I had to try and help bring some attention to the campaign. I've been following the project pretty much since it was first announced so it's really exciting to finally see it get to this point. For me it seems to fix a lot of the problems I have with other mouse shapes and the hardware improvements and optimizations are also nice to see. The optical switches will be interesting to try as well, there's not too many mice out there (that I know of anyway) that use them. "The Astrum, Ninox’s third mouse, is the lightest fully modular computer mouse in the world, coming in at under 80 grams. With 13 different ways to configure the shape of the mouse, along with the highest quality materials and components available, it’s designed to deliver the best possible levels of comfort and performance. The Astrum has also been designed for extremely high levels of adjustability and customisation, from the hardware, through to the software. Choose from 3 main shapes, with the choice of where you’d like the side buttons – on both sides, none at all, or the left, or right, all included in the box. Unique features of the Astrum’s shell include an adjustable sensor position, and 3D CAD templates which you can use to create your own attachments via 3D printing, or simply download and print community made designs! The hardware inside the Astrum packs a punch, too, with infrared optical microswitches, rated at 90 million clicks, and an optical scroll wheel encoder, rated at 50 million scrolls. The optical microswitches are also extremely fast, requiring far less error checking delay than their mechanical counterparts. The Astrum also uses a top of the line sensor, the Pixart PMW-3360, which is capable of 12,000 DPI, and a max tracking speed of over 6.5 meters per second. Changing basic settings on the Astrum can be done without software, simply use button combinations to change settings, such as your DPI and LED colour. However, fully featured software is also available, with much finer control over settings, including key binds, macros, profiles, LED control, and advanced sensor options. The software is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux. The Astrum was designed in England, by Ninox, and is a crowd funded project. If you like the sound of the mouse, please take a look at the Indiegogo page, its live now!" 17. Doesn't the same rounding also happen if you set it in the config, I seem to remember that it does?
  18. You don't even have to do that, in game supports all decimals as long as you press apply after pasting it in instead of enter.
  19. Thanks for clearing that up, I must have had some of the old sensitivity lines left in the .ini or something. Oh, did you check whether or not using just "LastConvertedSensitivity" without "Sensitivity" still works? I've seen a few reports that it doesn't work so I was hoping you'd be able to clear up which methods work and which ones don't.
  20. Yeah, it's a good idea to delete the .ini and let the game generate a new one and read through it with each major update as there's usually some changes to the way the lines are set up. Another thing to note with this patch is that if you are using the sensitivity override for the 2x-15x sights you should leave "ScopingMagnified" at the default 50 and 0.02 or it will affect the sensitivities you've just set. I haven't double checked this but when I first set them both to my calculated "Scoping/Ironsight" value it ended up making the sights from 2x up way too slow, default works perfectly though. Also you can use Config 2 by pasting the values in the in game menu and applying which is really useful if you're constantly changing sensitivies like me, dealing with the config is such a hassle with the way the control settings are.
  21. Are you sure that's what it is? I'm pretty sure that's the universal zoom sensitivity "Scoping" or at least that's the value that got changed when I tried. I could be wrong though, maybe it works differently if you don't check the override zoom sensitivity checkbox. I use the override and just left it at default because it seemed to affect my sensitivities if changed.
  22. It was explained back here, but yeah a link to it in calculator description would be helpful. I don't know why but I couldn't get it to work via the .ini, it would always round to the closest even number and the corresponding LastConvertedMouseSensitivity. Pasting it in the game however yields a similar LastConvertedMouseSensitivity to what "Config File 1" would give me so it seems to be working that way.
  23. Yeah it's ridiculous how every control related setting is under a single line in the config, really makes it a pain to try and adjust anything from there. I did however notice that you can use the "Config File 2" method by copy pasting the values directly into the in-game sensitivity settings so I'll just use that instead. Also, being able to adjust other settings in game as well as not having to set the .ini to read only is a nice additional benefit of doing it this way
  24. Seems like there will be some changes to the sensitivity settings with update #15. I don't know if "Iron-sight" will be a new separate sensitivity from scoping but the fact that "Scoping" is greyed out makes me think they renamed the old "Scoping" to "Iron-sight" and the new "Scoping" now works as a universal zoom sensitivity unless you check the override and set them individually? Edit: From the patch notes: Added universal scope sensitivity setting, with the ability to individually set scope sensitivities if desired. Sensitivity levels now apply properly for scopes with a variable zoom.
  25. Nice work. I don't understand how the ability to adjust sensitivity for each sight/fov isn't a standard feature on pc games, shooters especially. Can't think of games other than BF4, BF1 and PUBG that allow you to do this. Even a simple ads slider seems to be a luxury but I guess you don't need that on a gamepad so we just have to deal with it.
