Is this just a PS4 change? PC version seems identical.

Reports on twitter, forums, etc seem to vary greatly. Some (including DICE staff) have said this is a result of FoV changes. Some (including DICE staff) have said it is related to Uniform Soldier Aiming. Some (many, many people) say it feels super sluggish. Some say it is the same.

 

Sorry, I'm no expert on this, just trying to help out with feeding back info that's hidden in twitter threads :)

 

was wondering what I should set my coefficient on Uniform Soldier Aim as if I want to keep the same sens across all scopes

Longer answer: somewhere between 0% and 133%

Even longer answer: Maybe up to your screen aspect ratio (eg 177% for 16:9)

My answer: I use the golden ratio.... but I'm not settled on that yet.

Basically you can only truly match mouse movements for a certain distance across your screen. Any other distance will be more and more inaccurate as you move away from that screen distance.

 

The coefficient is such that screen distance that movements are matched for is: 

(distance from center of screen to top of screen) * coefficient.

This means the default 1.3333 coefficient will match sensitivity to the right (or left) edge of the screen if you have a 4:3 aspect ratio. This also means that if you wanted to match mouse movements to the edge of the screen on a 16:9 monitor you would use 1.7777. This will likely make higher zooms feel much too sensitive. The devs decided to go with 1.3333 because it's the value that CS:GO uses, and that they think it feels pretty good. It works out so that it matches mouse movements to a little less than half the distance from the center of your screen to the edge.

 

You can also imagine this as a circle such that the center is your crosshair and the radius is the "equation" from before.

 

I only have a payday 2 image readily available but it'll work.

 

The red circle is (in bf1/4) the line to where mouse movements will match when you have 1.33 coefficient. 1.0 is Green. 0.5 is Blue. 0 is a valid coefficient and it makes it so the pixel velocity under your crosshair matches for different zoom levels.

So played this game today for the first time, for comparison:

 

Black ops 3:

Fov 106

ingame sens 1.55

DPI 550

 

Ironsight on AR and elo sight is around %50 of hipfire...

 

 

 

So I converted this to BF1:

Fov vertical 73.5

Ingame sens 0.018 {12% ingame from memory}

DPI 550

 

then I figured id set the aim down sight value to 50%? should be the same right?

 

it feels way different, slower... anyone have insight in to what It should be?? I just want to aim to feel like bo3!!

Marbleduck (a well known battlefield player and youtuber and uber-knowledgeable guy) commented in one of his videos today that his sensitivity is identical to BF4. That's on PC.
 

I'm inclined to believe pretty much anything he says about the game. Maybe it *is* just a PS4/X1 change... or maybe just a controller change? Or maybe as the comments on twitter hinted, it's settings specific, and Marbleduck just happens to have the right settings. If needs be, I'm sure I could get in contact with him to find out what those settings are.

i'm new here so sorry if i ask a stupid question.

I play mostly Siege, now i bought BF 1 pure out of nostalgia.

 

When converting settings to BF 1 i can only select hipfire, is ADS comming or can i find this somewhere else?

The game for some reason calculates the HFOV for 4:3 resolution, and does not take into account your actual aspect ratio.

 

If you select Horizontal Deg. | Res Base and enter 102 as you want, you'll get GstRender.FieldOfViewVertical 69.57 which is what you should configure :)

 

(Assuming you play with a 16:9 resolution)

 

I'm doing something wrong here. How I can perform FOV calculations? Note the grayed out fields.

Tonight i busted out the tape measure.... theres too many options in BF1 compared to say cod bo3....

 

550DPI @ 2560x1440

 

 

bo3 - Hfov 106

       - In game sens 1.55

 

hipfire: 317mm/360

ELO sight (universal iron sight attachment) scales to 50FOV and gives 690mm/360

 

 

BF1 - actual Hfov 106 (90 ingame settings)

        - In game sens 12% (0.018 via config)

 

Hipfire + Ironsight 360 as above. few things I noticed as a BF novice:

 

Uniform Aim [ON]

Coefficient 0%

Zoom sensitivity 82%

 

I noticed the setting in the Video tab 'Aim down sight Field of View' which I left [OFF]. Turning it on significantly reduced my zoom factor which could be a good thing but I didn't feel it ended up anywhere near the goal of 50% FOV to match cod.

If anyone knows how this setting scales the FOV when its [ON] and [OFF] that would be great.

 

For now though with them settings everything seems fairly consistent between games.

 

 

PS: I also tried it with the default Uniform Aim value coefficient of 1.33 which required a Zoom sensitivity of 71% to match cod iron sight 360.

I realise the value needs to be 100% to be exactly the same as hip fire however I'm used to and prefer ADS to be a fair bit less sensitive.

 

again if anyone knows the iron sight FOV in BF1 and the scaling factor when ADS FOV is enabled that would be tops.

One thing that might be of interest, it appears as the ingame setting for the 3.5x zoom actually affects both 3,5 and 4x scopes and the 4x setting doesnt do anything as of now. so changing the 4x setting to 10% will make the sensitivity feel just like before. I would like to know what zoom sens percentage roughly equals CS GO ´s mouse_zoom_sensitivity_ratio 1 in terms of screen distance (not 360, because of drastically different fov) so I can match the two.

Iam new on this webpage. Iam trying to match rb6 with bf1 mouse settings. Thing is that i cant find where to put mi percentages that are in the options menu...how can i match it correctly without adding those porecentages? just measuring on the mouse pad?

DPI Wizard, any official statement from your side wether the sensitivity is still the same like in Bf4?

And are you going to add other scope too, like in Bf4? :)

Base sensitivity for hipfire is definitely the same as BF4.

 

I will add scopes, in-game sensitivity and full support for all the USA options.

A dev post said that the formula was distance from crosshair to the top of the screen times the coefficient.  That gives the horizontal pixel distance to match at.  

 

the reason it defaults to 1.33 is because 1.33 is 4/3.  That means that on a 4/3 monitor the distance to match at is the screen's edge.

 

for 16:9, the distance from crosshair to top of screen is 540.  Halfway to the screen's edge is 480 pixels.  

 

So the formula for the coefficient should be 540 x (coefficient) = 480.

 

So the coefficient is .888888

 

or at least that's my understanding

Remember, the FOV is vertical.

If you're talking about horizontal FOV you should specify that, because it's not the FOV used in the game.

PS the math is easier if you just do 16/9/2 (16:9*50%)

PPPS Everyone keeps calling ethereal a 'dev'. Did he join the company? He wasn't a dev when he wrote that.
